There are many families in the current society that do not have health insurance due to a financial hardship. In previous years, if a family did not live below one hundred fifty percent of the Federal Poverty level and be eligible for Medicaid, there was not anything else that the government could do for them. However, if a family is still living below two hundred percent of the Federal Poverty level, it is still struggling just to pay the basic living expenses, not to mention an insurance plan. That is why states have started to implement these free health insurance plans. That way these families can apply for the free health insurance plan, and if they do not qualify for the free plan, they will usually be able to pay a small amount for the plan rather than the high fees that are required for other health insurance plans that the individual would be able to find through other insurance companies.

If a free health insurance plan is not able to be obtained by the family due to some paperwork reason, there are other options available such as free health clinics. These clinics are available to provide medical care to individuals and families at a reduced cost for treatment. They will provide almost any medical care for the individuals short of hospitalization so that the family can stay healthy throughout the year without a huge medical bill.
